Principal’s Message
Who would have ever judged the potency of a virus to literally and figuratively bring the
world to a standstill, while simultaneously transforming it in manifold ways? But the potency
of the virus did the unthinkable, the unimaginable.
Our college campus which is usually a vibrant place buzzing with activity suddenly fell silent
with the announcement of a lockdown to counter the pandemic and this morbid inactivity
continued for over a year. However, times may change, but time keeps moving. The
academic activities of the institution could not be suspended indefinitely and a way to counter
physical absence from the campus had to be identified. IT came to the rescue with Google
Classrooms, Zoom Links and Microsoft Teams. Virtual became the new real. Admission
procedures, submission of documents and payment of fees were now done from home;
lectures, examinations and even extra-curricular and co-curricular activities were successfully
organized in an online mode; the use of smart phones in fact smartened all stakeholders as ‘Work
from Home’ became the norm.
On a positive note, the change in the academic system opened wide vistas. What started as
small steps gained momentum and the challenges of the times egged enthusiastic students,
dedicated faculty and a pro-active management team not only to rise to the occasion, but to
rise above it. Browsing through the pages of the Yearbook will give you an insight into what
makes us proud of our endeavours, activities and achievements – a series of academic
webinars, a range of intra and inter-college activities, celebrations of national days and Teachers’
Day, brain tickling Quiz Competitions, the Hinduja Model United Nations 2021 conference
and much more, all conducted virtually and very successfully.
In summation, I can say that we have learnt many lessons from the pandemic and the lockdown
and we shall take the lessons ahead. We shall overcome and rise over every hurdle, every
challenge thrown our way. We remain inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s words of wisdom,
“We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased,
the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.”
