In the spirit of the N.S.S. motto, 'NOT ME BUT YOU' the N.S.S. unit of our College has been committed to its mission of fostering
social awareness and community engagement. Throughout the year, NSS volunteers have worked tirelessly towards creating a
positive impact on society, embodying the values of selflessness and service.
A word and pictorial journey of the remarkable initiatives and events that have defined the Academic Year 2022-2023 are chronicled
as follows:
• Kargil Vijay Diwas (July 26, 2022)
On this occasion an 'Open Mic' was organized in which students presented poetry and stories to honor the bravery and courage of the
Indian Army and to remember their sacrifices on the battlefield.
• Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (August 08 – 17, 2022)
To celebrate 75 years of India's independence with zeal and patriotism NSS
volunteers arranged a range of activities which included Poster Making and Poetry
Writing competitions, Rallies, Seminars, Food Donation Drives, Debates, Prabhat
Pheri and the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.
• Seminar on Marine Pollution (September 23, 2022)
An offline seminar on 'Marine Pollution' was organized by the NSS unit of the
College in collaboration with ‘United Way Mumbai’. Ms. Mitali Mutta who was the Resource Person on the occasion spoke at
length about various marine lives and how fatal marine pollution can be.
• Gandhi Jayanti (October 02, 2022)
To commemorate the birth anniversary of the 'Father of the Nation' the NSS Units
of the College organized and participated in activities such as a Clean- up Drive at
the Mint Colony Metro Station, Poster Making and a Quiz competition.
• Seminar on Mental Health (October 10, 2022)
Ms. Sushmita Singh was the Resource Person at a seminar titled 'The Importance
of Mental Health' organized by the NSS Units of the College. Her talk generated
an awareness of this serious yet underrated disorder which she advised must be
discussed with family and friends.
• Paper Bag Making (November 10, 2022) & Children's Day Celebration
(November 14, 2022)
Handmade paper bags decorated with fun cartoons and motivational quotes and
filled with a book and stationery kits were prepared by volunteers. These goody
bags were then donated to the students of MERC School, Dadar on the occasion of
Children's Day.
• Street Play on 'Menstrual Hygiene' (November 19, 2022)
NSS volunteers performed a Street Play on 'Menstrual Hygiene' which is a much-
neglected subject. Through the performanace important messages about this biological occurrence were shared.
