            Academic Festival 'Arthvivechanam’
            The  Department  of  M.A.  (Business  Economics  and  Rural  Development)  organized  an  inter-collegiate  event
              'Arthvivechanam'. The theme of the event was 'Deliberation on Economic Thoughts'. This event comprised of
              multiple activities over a four-day period (March 18-21, 2021).
            •  Jam Session
              The participants showcased their oral communication skills by speaking for one minute on an economics related
              topic that was given by the Judges.

            •  PPT Competition
              The participants had to prepare and display a PowerPoint Presentation with maximum seven slides on an
              economics related topic which was given to them.


            •  Quiz Competition
              In this activity, eleven teams comprising of two participants each had to answer questions related to Current
              Affairs, Brand Logos and other illustration based questions.

            •  Webinar on Entrepreneurship
              On the final day of the Academic Festival 'Arthvivechanam' a webinar on the 'Role of Rural Entrepreneur: Agri-
              Business Dynamics in Economic Development' was organized. The Resource Person for the webinar was Mr.
              Ashwin Sawant, Chief Executive Officer at Scientific Hydrophonics. He has been awarded the Krishi Ratna
              Award by Cabinet Minister Shri. Nitin Gadkari in 2015 for his dedicated work in the field of Hydrophonics. More
              than 40 participants attended the webinar.

            •  Webinar on Intellectual Property Rights
              A Webinar  on  'Intellectual  Property  Rights  in  India'  was  organized  to  raise
              awareness about the significance of intellectual property and its components
              such as patents and trademarks. The Resource Person for the session was Dr.
              Hema Mehta, Assistant Professor at Tolani College of Commerce who has more
              than 17 years' experience in the field of Business Law. She covered important
              topics such as the scope, assignment, infringement and limitations of copyright,
              plagiarism  in  academic  work  and  the  importance  of  acknowledging  and
              referencing other people's work in research. (April 18, 2021)

            •  Family Managed Business Cell
                                        The Department inaugurated the 'Family Managed Cell' and organized a talk show
                                         titled 'Chhota Sa Khwaab' by Prof. Samish Dalal on the occasion. Mr. Dalal is an
                                         eminent academician with learning experiences at top Universities such as the
                                         Harvard and Wharton Business School. His Case Studies are world best sellers and
                                         he has been actively associated with the TEDx platform. The Cell intends to train
                                         students in managing their family businesses. A number of students of the College
                                         belong to an economic background of small and medium scale business enterprises
                                         and this initiative has been conceived as a platform to groom students into becoming
                                         budding entrepreneurs for their family businesses in future. The talk also focused on
                                         strategies to upscale small family businesses and to confront challenges arising out
                                         of theb pandemic. (April 15, 2021)
