The ac vi es of the DLLE for the academic year began with an Enrollment Drive in which 132 students registered. In each Semester
a Training Programme was conducted to guide volunteers about the various ac vi es to be undertaken and an endeavour was
made to empower the volunteers and to make them responsible ci zens.
● Extension Work Teachers and Student Managers a ended a Training Programme organized by the DLLE Unit of the University,
hosted by K. J. Somaiya College of Science & Commerce. (January 10, 2022)
● A Training Programme was organized for DLLE students in which Field Co-ordinator, Dr. Jitendra Aherkar was invited to guide
students about how to carry out different ac vi es at the College and community level. (January 18, 2022)
● On the occasion of World Heart Day, a webinar on 'Awareness and Preven on of Heart Diseases among Youth' was arranged.
The Guest of Honor on the occasion was Dr. M. R. Narayan Rao, Preven ve Cardiologist & Founder of the Indian Ins tute of
Research in Detoxifica on, Mumbai. The Guest Speaker at the webinar was Dr. Dilip Pa l, Former Director DLLE, and
University of Mumbai. (September 29, 2022)
● On the occasion of Na onal Girl Child Day, the Department organized a Poetry Wri ng Compe on which was open for
students from different colleges. The purpose was to promote and educate youth about the pressing issues faced by girl
children in India. (January 24, 2022)

● On Republic Day, a Poster Making compe on was organized for students from different colleges. (January 26, 2022)

● Martyrs' Day was observed by organizing a Slogan Wri ng compe on for students from different colleges to honour the
memory of the Freedom Fighters of our country.

● A Mask Distribu on Drive was organized wherein masks were distributed to street vendors at Bhuleshwar market.
