The Rotaract Club of Hinduja College's commitment is to create a positive change, foster community connections and make a
meaningful impact. The theme for the Rotary International Year 2022-2023 was 'Together We Grow', which aimed at the personal
and professional growth of Club members and the empowerment of the community under the Presidentship of Rtr, Palin Rathor
(SYBMS). In the course of the last Academic Year the Rotaract Club of the College collaborated with over 30 other Rotaract Clubs,
both in India and abroad and undertook a large number of activities among which those that merit especial mention are listed and
enumerated as follows :
• Period of Sharing 2.O:
The Rotaract Club of Hinduja College, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Bombay,
initiated "PERIODS OF SHARING 2.0," a year long project aimed at positively impacting the
lives of 400 tribal and underprivileged women in Jogeshwari and Marol. The Project was
structured in four phases, with the distribution of free sanitary pads for three months in each
phase.
Phase 1 focused on menstrual education, addressing topics such as hygiene, dispelling myths,
sharing facts and encouraging open discussions to reduce the social stigma attached to a
biological occurrence.
Phase 2 involved gathering feedback from the women and young girls who had received the
donated pads, ensuring that the products were suitable and addressing any issues that they may
have encountered.
Phase 3 featured Dr. Poornima Kamble who educated the women on conditions such as PCOD
and PCOS, their causes and symptoms. She even clarified their concerns in the matter.
Phase 4 of the project emphasized on the importance of prioritizing women's health and
motivated them to take charge of their well-being.
• BREATHE - Let Me Live (October 09 – 10, 2022)
On October 09, 2022, the Rotaract Club of Hinduja College's Team International Service organized 'BREATHE - Let Me Live', a
two-day initiative for World Mental Health Day which is observed on October 10 each year.
The endeavor began with a flash mob dance, spreading hope through AASHAYEIN.
Rotaractors with posters offering support and free hugs engaged with the community. A
karaoke session and a fifteen-minute meditation promoting mindfulness followed next. The
highlight of the activity was a session by Shri. Kishore Kuvavala, a renowned Laughter
Therapist. He discussed the brain's connection with laughter. On the following day, the
Rotaractors distributed positive messages reinforcing self-belief, strength and beauty among
students and teachers at Hinduja College.
• Body Positivity Campaign: Embracing Self-Love (November 12-14, 2022)
The Rotaract Club of Hinduja College's Team Social Media initiated a 'Body Positivity Campaign' to promote self-acceptance and
challenge beauty standards on social media. On the first day, they launched the campaign on
Instagram and Facebook, encouraging followers to share body insecurities and experiences
with body shaming. The second day involved sending uplifting body positivity affirmations to
over 300 people, promoting a chain reaction of positivity. A body positive tweet was shared on
Twitter. On the third day, a reel encouraged viewers to repeat body positive affirmations. The
hashtags #bodypositivitycampaign and #spreadthepositivity were widely used. This
campaign reached around 2000 people, helping them to feel better about themselves and be
able to challenge societal beauty norms.
