Guidance Lecture
The Department of M.A. organised a Guidance Lecture on 'How to Write a Dissertation' by Dr. Shripad Joshi, Assistant
Professor, Clara's College of Commerce. The students were given guidance about the selection of a topic, Research
Methodology, Data Collection and Reporting of Research Work. The session was timely and useful for students as they set
out to prepare their Research Projects for the final semester of M.A. (February 01, 2023)
An Interactive Session in association with ‘FactShala’
An online interactive session on 'Misinformation on Social Media' was conducted in association with ‘FactShala’. It is a news
and information literacy programme supported by Google News Initiative that aims to educate people about understanding
media, analyzing content and equipping them with the skills needed to consume information critically. The Resource Person
for the session was Ms. Daivata Patil, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Communication & Jounalism, University of Mumbai and
Director of Strategic Planning and Research, G100 Media Arts & Communication. She made students aware about the
menace of misinformation, fake news and disinformation that is rampant on social media platforms. She provided inputs
about differentiating between real information and fake news and shared Case Studies to explain how misinformation can
disturb harmony and law and order in society. (February 24, 2023)

• An Orientation Programme was organized for the students of YCMOU courses by the IMS Department. Dr. Vaman Nakhale,
Regional Director of Mumbai, YCMOU and Mr. Vikas Nagle, Former Assistant Director of Census, Government of India
graced the occasion. Besides giving valuable advice and guidance to the students the Regional Director spoke about the
significance of Open Universities in extending the boundaries of education. (November 27, 2022)
• A two–day workshop was organized by the IMS department for B.Lib. and M.Lib. students. Prof. Sanjay More, a Librarian
from Chetana College, Bandra and Dr. Neeta Kambale, a Librarian from L.J.N.J.College, Vile Parle, Mumbai who were the
Subject Experts for the activity guided students for Project Preparation. (February 11 -12, 2023)
• Hinduja College alumnus, Mr. Prathmesh Chiplunkar, SEO, Manager in Webenza India Pvt. Ltd. delivered a Guest Lecture
on 'Digital Marketing' to the students of the BCA Programme. (February 17, 2023)
• A Certificate Training course is being conducted for students of the BCA by Asterix Solutions. This course trains students in
the latest technology used in the IT sector.
