"AI is probably the most important thing humanity has ever worked on.
I think of it as something more preferred than electricity or fire." - Sundar Pichai
The term 'Ar ficial Intelligence' was first coined by John McCarthy, an American computer scien st in 1956. "It is a branch of
computer science by which we can create intelligent machines which can behave like humans, think like humans and are able to
take decisions..” In simple words AI is that which makes machines like computers, Android mobiles, cars etc. work intelligently or
'smartly' on their own. Machines or robots are programmed to mimic human intelligence and are said to be smart machines,
which are used to reason, to control, to solve problems, etc. A few decades ago, the apprecia ve word 'SMART' perhaps assured an
interviewee a job, but now, the same word may quite startle a worker as it may snatch his job or result in him being shi ed to
        another job.
'Ar ficial Intelligence" is composed of two words: 'Ar ficial' and 'Intelligence', where 'Ar ficial' defines 'Man-made' and
'Intelligence' defines 'Thinking Power', hence AI simply means 'Man-made Thinking Power'.”
AI is rolling out at such a pace that it supersedes humans whose speed is limited by biological evolu on. It will lead to disrup ve
technology which will change the lives of the people by introducing robo c assistants at homes, offices and restaurants, auto-
driven cars for personal and official tours with an inbuilt i nerary and automated disease diagnosis at home or in a hospital. It will
also result in violent disturbances in people's lives, posing a huge risk to their livelihoods. According to Stephen Hawking, in the
future it may culminate in an "Intelligence Explosion", which means AI will outpace the human mind.
It is an cipated that one-third of the workers in the US, especially those in the staff category, will either have to quit their job or find
an alternate source of earning as AI is found to be performing immeasurable tasks, far exceeding the poten al of most human
beings. The World Economic Forums' 'The Future of Job Report 2020' reports: that "AI is expected to replace 85 million jobs
        worldwide by 2025."
        Advantages of AI
AI can be u lized in hundreds or thousands of ways in all small or big industries. Modern AI technologies can analyze or reason
faster and process ma er more accurately than humans and bring out successful results in no me. So, there are no me restraints
        for AI machines.
AI can produce smarter materials and provide smarter services than human beings and therefore may be able to provide human
beings with easier lives and more leisure me. Sabine Havert, the Co-founder of Robohub.org, is op mis c about AI: "Robots are
not going to replace humans; they are going to make their jobs much more humane. Difficult, demeaning, demanding, dangerous,
dull - these are the jobs robots will be taking."
