The twelfth prestigious annual 'Dharam S. Hinduja Inter-collegiate Essay Writing Competition
for Lecturers' was organised by the Society in November- December 2019. The entries that
were received were judged by a distinguished panel comprising of:
Dr. Chandra Iyer, a noted Educationist, Author, Free Consultant & Psychologist. She is also a
faculty in the Department of Management Studies, Birla College of Arts, Science and
Commerce, Kalyan.
Mr. Manoj Bhatia, a Management Expert & Vice President, Raymonds Pvt. Ltd.. He is a
Corporate Trainer, Author and Motivational Speaker, as well as a Visiting Faculty at leading
Management Institutes in Mumbai.
Mr. Purnesh Bhattacharya, a Creative Director with MediaMedic Communication, a leading
Advertising Agency in Mumbai, a recipient of the CLIO BRONZE 2011 in the health segment
and a Winner of The Rx Club Award of Excellence 2011.
Based on the average of marks awarded by the judges, the winners of the competition and the
subjects of their entries were as follows:
1st Prize : Ms. Dipali Paresh Mali of Sonopant Dandekar College, Palghar
2nd Prize : Ms. Asema Siddiqui, Maharashtra College, Mumbai
3rd Prize : Dr. Laxman Shamrao Survase of S.H. Kelkar College, Sindhudurg
(The subject of all three essays was 'Environmental Degradation: Plastic vs. Paper' )
