Human Rights in India

On the occasion of Human the Rights Day, the N.S.S. Unit of the College organized a University-
level webinar in collaboration with the NGO, PCGT (Public Concern for Governance Trust) on the
topic - 'Human Rights in India'. The esteemed speaker the session was Mr. Colin Gonsalves, a Senior
Advocate of the Supreme Court of India. He spoke at length about Human Rights in India, shared his
personal experiences and narrated some real-life incidents about serious human rights violations and
their cause. The session had an attendance of over 1000 NSS volunteers, teachers and enthusiasts
from different colleges of Mumbai, as well as colleges from other districts that are affiliated to the
University of Mumbai. (December 10, 2020)

Mission Satisfaction
Amid the second wave of COVID-19 the city witnessed a shortage of Oxygen cylinders and beds for
COVID patients. To extend help in this time of crisis, the NSS volunteers organized 'Mission
Satisfaction' with an aim to maintain and provide verified and up-to-date information regarding the
availability of hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, plasma donors, food and medicines. The information
was shared on social media. The endeavor benefitted 16 families. (April 24 – May 02, 2021)
