Women Development Cell
Conveners: Dr. Jayashree Patil-Dake (Aided) & Dr. Samira Sayed (SFC)
The College Women Development Cell (CWDC) is a statutory body constituted under the Vice-
Chancellor's Directives to promote the general well-being of female students, teaching and non –
teaching staff.
The following events and activities were conducted by the CWDC during the Academic Year 2020-
21:
Orientation of WDC
An Orientation Programme was held to introduce the newly inducted student members and faculty
to each other and to familiarize them about the structure and working of the Women Development
Cell. (February 04, 2021)
Webinar on 'Constitution of India & Gender Equality’
The Orientation Program was followed by an interactive and informative webinar on 'Constitution
of India & Gender Equality' in which Dr. Vibhuti Patel, an eminent speaker shared her valuable time
with the attendees and enlightened their minds. The webinar had a gratifying response of over 250
participants. (February 04, 2021)
Quiz on 'Safe Internet Day’
An online Quiz Competition was organized to spread awareness about 'Internet Safety' and other
internet related aspects. This event was aimed at enhancing the knowledge of the students and all the
participants on subjects related to internet. (February 09, 2021)
Quiz on National Women's Day
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu (The Nightingale of India) and to promote
Women Empowerment, an online Quiz Competition which had a heartening response of over 500
participants was organized. (February 13, 2021)
Women's Week Celebrations
The CWDC dedicated an entire week to women and womanhood in an endeavor to create awareness
and promote Gender Equality under the theme 'Women Hold Up Half the Sky'.
The following events and competitions were conducted during the week:
• Quiz on International Women's Day
An online Quiz Competition was organized with an aim to spread awareness about global
gender equality. Over 1500 participants from all over the world sent in their responses via a
Google Form all through the Women's Week.
• Poster Making Competition
A virtual intra-collegiate Poster Making Competition was organized for students of the Degree,
as well as the Junior Section of the College. Students could submit either handmade or digital
posters on any one of the subjects that had been declared in advance. (February 26 – March 02,
2021)
