Parent-Teacher Association
Convener: Dr. Susan Alex
An online meeting of the PTA which was held on February 12, 2021 commenced with a formal introduction of
the faculty and a confirmation of the PTA Accounts by the Convener of the Association, Dr. Susan Alex. More
than 300 parents and students attended the online Zoom Meeting. Member, Prof. Mithu Biswas then gave
information about the Book Bank Scheme and financial support extended to needy students by the College and
the PTA.
A formal address by Principal Dr. Minu Madlani which followed underlined the importance of a Parent-
Teacher Association in the College and encouraged parents to motivate their wards to attend lectures regularly
and to take part in various college activities, events, programmes to become more learned and productive
individuals. Dr. Madlani emphasized that Corporates absorb diligent students and that parents can help to
identify placement opportunities for students, help in internship programmes and also provide
entrepreneurship guidance to students. The Principal further informed the gathering that the College building
will be going for redevelopment in the future and responded to queries from concerned parents and students
regarding the reopening of the College; the examination pattern that will be followed; the sanitization of the
premises; the safety of students and faculty etc. Dr. Madlani assured the attendees that all safety procedures
prescribed by the University and Municipal authorities will be followed. She also appreciated the efforts of the
faculty during the pandemic situation, in conducting lectures and examinations. She informed that after the
reopening of the College a blend of off-line and online teaching will be followed.
Prof. Durgesh Kumar Dubey then called for nomination of parents to the PTA Committee and invited
suggestions from them for the improvement of the College. After a healthy interactive session the meeting was
concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Dubey.
Entrepreneurship Cell
Convener: Dr. Shradha Jain
Workshop
A workshop on Entrepreneurship was conducted in association with IIT Bombay. The sessions held over a
period of three days helped the participants to develop well-defined business plans and models. The workshop
also dwelt on how students can fund their start-ups. With job cuts in many sectors of the economy,
entrepreneurship is increasingly being explored by young people with ideas, skills, passion and ambitions
(October 23-25, 2020).
The following activities were conducted as part of the workshop:
1. Solving Case Studies.
2. Learning about Funding (Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists and Private Equity Firms).
3. Mentorship by Industry Leaders
4. BMC (Business Model Canvas)
The sessions were conducted by Mr. Punit Raman, Founder of
Prowisdom who spoke about his entrepreneurial journey and
the challenges faced by him. 72 students participated in the
workshop. They were provided with a certificate from IIT Bombay.
